Our Projects
Our projects are the result of a combination of individual inquiry and collective curiosity. We design, test, collect data and support analysis for local and regional research for various themes including but not limited to education, environment, technology, and health. A short summary of our past research aims are featured below. Check them out!

Climate Change and Health Adaptation
[2021] Determining how climate change effects/impacts (e.g., higher temperatures, prolonged drought, more intense storms, more frequent flooding, vector-borne diseases) can influence health behaviors among stakeholders and potentially undermine systems in the Caribbean region [2021].

Education [RESETS];
Efficacy and Reform
[2021] Investigating how education is administered, resourced and engaged in the Caribbean as to identify various pathways and barriers in delivering viable, comprehensive and sustainable academic and professional outcomes for staff and students with some reference to climate.
Nutrition, Body Image and Physical Activity

[2021] Evaluating the dietary behaviors, self-perception of body types, and physical activity among Caribbean stakeholders while probing unique relationships and additional behavioral modifiers that interact to influence the risk of adverse health outcomes, including potential disruptors linked to the climate crisis.

Vehicular Emissions Testing in the Tropics
[2021] Analyzing tailpipe emissions of vehicles across three states of operation (parked, idling and acceleration) to estimate the potential contribution to GHG concentrations. Exhaust profiles according to vehicular features (model, fuel type, age, mileage, etc.) used to informed driver education around CC mitigation.
Interpersonal Relationships

[2022] Studying the quality of personal and professional bonds among teenagers and young adults as mediated by identity power dynamics, domestic environment, crisis, culture, romantic connections, etc., to understand potential vulnerabilities due to climate change effects.
Skin Care and General Health

[2022] Facilitating an open discussion post an informational presentation on various dermal diseases (both acute and chronic) to crowdsource info on risks and responses inherent in the diet, behaviors, product use, and dispositions, including the effects of climate impact (e.g. high heat).

Tourism; the Economy and Environment
[2023] Surveying critical stakeholders (i.e., service providers, clients and beneficiaries) in a small Caribbean nation to engage perceptions around economic opportunities and threats to the environment and climate, related to a traditional tourism industry.

Efficacy of Health and Family Life Education
[2021] Reviewing the Health and Family Life Education course in secondary schools, thereafter reflecting on the appropriateness, effectiveness and overall cultural relevance of a curriculum in the Caribbean region as it relates to adult life experiences and overall wellness outcomes.

Environmental Science and Society
[2022] Introducing themes of sustainability using key concepts of critical natural processes that describe and drive the propagation of life (for flora and fauna) such as backyard gardens, as well as the impacts of various human-led activities on the environment in the Caribbean region with consideration for non-local actors.

New and Advanced Laboratory Techniques
[2022] Providing skills development for students and early career professionals interested in novel and/or advanced laboratory techniques of collection, detection, measurement, and separation in biological, chemical and physical sciences that form the foundation for field research.

Artificial Intelligence,
Society and Security
[2023] Profiling the use of artificial intelligence in the personal and professional lives of Caribbean residents to yield awareness around the increasing pervasiveness and underlying safety and societal risks of the emerging technology, including the threats to natural resources critical in climate adaptation.

Climate Change and Food Insecurity
[2021] Reviewing pathways/ practices around food (in) security as it relates to climate and health, so as to promote mitigation and avoid maladaptive responses to climate -driven/-exacerbated effects. Focus placed on aspects of access (including availability and affordability) and solutions that decrease GHG emissions.
